Tomorrow: we may delay 90 minutes so we can carry the IAB US Podcasting Advertising Report data._ - May 6: Someone has been taking the podcast A History of Rock Music in 500 Songs and, without credit, translating it into French for nearly two years, says the host, earning money from it, too. Andrew Hickey, who hosts the podcast, warns “I am going to give him until Monday to take all those episodes down and post an apology before I contact a lawyer”.
- May 3: The IAB has released v2.2 of the Podcast Measurement Guidelines. It’s the first new set of guidelines in over three years. To help understand what’s changed, we’ve prepared a summary of changes between v2.1 and v2.2, and between the public consultation vs final. One change is the removal of Spotify as a contributing company: Spotify left the IAB earlier this year.
- Apr 29: Three US presidents are united on an episode of SmartLess available today. Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes were joined by Presidents Biden, Obama and Clinton in New York City. The episode was available early on Amazon Music and Wondery+. The show switches to SiriusXM later this year.
- Apr 26: TWiT is to close its studios in Petaluma in the next six months, Leo Laporte said in Macbreak Weekly. “Every little bit counts,” he said, referencing the environmental benefits. ”Our 15 employees won't be driving all the way to Petaluma anymore. They will be staying home.” TWiT made staff layoffs late last year.
